Transactions Manager Location: Overland Park, KS; Dallas, TX; Charlotte, NC; Cary, NC; Houston, TX; Ann Arbor, MI. Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies Opportunity The successful candidate will manage technical due diligence engagements for multiple types of assets, including conventional generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and renewable energy projects on behalf of lenders and investors. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, collecting and analyzing data, developing technical assessment reports, conducting site visits, maintaining client contacts, and overseeing overall project management. The manager will report to the Transaction Solution Team within Black & Veatch Infrastructure Advisory. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate solid working knowledge of conventional generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and renewable energy technologies. Leverage experience with plant engineering and design, inspections, outage assessment, plant and portfolio budget processes, equipment condition assessment, capital project assessments, reliability/availability assessments, performance assessments, financial analysis and models. Establish working relationships with client team members and management. Produce moderately complex work products and reports for engagements. Use best practices to develop knowledge bases and refine tools and techniques. Define performance measures, targets, and goals to articulate business case for efficiencies or added value. Implement project management for engagements, including managing expectations, delegating tasks, and risk management. Ensure high-quality project execution, deliverable quality control, scope assessment, feasibility, and issue resolution. Anticipate challenges and implement strategies to minimize issues. Build on existing tools and capabilities for project delivery. Analyze, develop, present, and defend conclusions, recommendations, implementation plans, and translate analyses into reports and presentations. Transfer knowledge and capabilities to improve colleagues’ skills. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience. 7+ years experience in a business or consulting environment. Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, etc.). Preferred Qualifications 7+ years of experience in engineering, business, or consulting in the energy and utility sector, including at least one of the following areas: Electric/Power Natural Gas Water Renewable Energy Technologies Conventional Generation Transmission Independent or Lender Engineer Plant experience (engineering design, inspections, outage assessments, budget process, equipment assessments, capital project assessment, reliability/availability assessments, field observations, performance assessments). Financial analysis and modeling. Engineering degree or other technical degree, with financial, economic, or MBA degrees considered. General working knowledge of complete transaction engagements and due diligence lifecycle. Advanced technical or industry knowledge, including power generation experience. Solid working knowledge of conventional generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and renewable energy technologies. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and manage engagements from initiation to completion. Ability to utilize and operate multiple software packages. Certifications Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable, are preferred. Work Environment / Physical Demands Based in the United States with ability to travel up to 25%. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days.
