Housekeeper/Room Attendant

JOB SUMMARY

The housekeeping/room attendant performs routine duties of cleaning and servicing our guest rooms beyond expectation while following the directive of the Executive Housekeeper. The housekeeping/room attendant promotes a positive image of the hotel establishment to guests and enjoys assisting our guests with such a pleasant and friendly temperament. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Consistently offer professional, friendly, and attentive service to guests; anticipate guests’ needs and answer questions pertaining to their visit; respond promptly; be familiar with property location, amenities, and local attractions to answer guests’ inquiries; resolve guests’ complaints to ensure satisfaction. Complete all required brand‑specific and health & safety training; adhere to all property brand standards; knowledge of fire alarm and evacuation procedures. Enter and prepare guest rooms for cleaning as per hotel standards: making beds; dusting television, pictures, and furniture; sweeping/vacuuming floors and carpets; cleaning windows and mirrors; cleaning the bathroom and emptying trash; cleaning the closet; disinfecting telephones daily; replenishing amenities; removing dirty linens and replacing with clean ones; realigning furniture to the floor plan; checking and securing the room; cleaning supply cart of garbage and used supplies, restocking it at shift end; updating and submitting room assignment sheet. Familiar with the lost‑and‑found policy; take responsibility in submitting any lost or found items in guest rooms immediately to the Executive Housekeeper, including purses, wallets, jewelry, etc. Perform other tasks as necessary or required to meet or exceed guest satisfaction.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

High‑school graduate or equivalent and a minimum of six months work‑related experience (hospitality or janitorial experience preferred). Excellent customer service skills.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in the hospitality industry (preferred). Previous experience as a housekeeper/room attendant or janitorial services (preferred).

REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to follow directions and work in a fast‑paced environment. Additional training (as required). Must be flexible to work varied schedules. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to listen attentively. Must have the physical ability to walk, bend, and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Must adhere to grooming and appearance standards in alignment with uniform. Must be dependable.

Ability to express compassion while remaining composed; remain calm and focused under pressure. Promote the property by demonstrating a top‑notch attitude toward guests, including anticipating the guest’s needs – be proactive. Ensure you are always a positive representation of the property; embrace and respect diversity and multi‑cultural environments.
