About the Position

Travelers are expected to float throughout a designated zone covering a 60-mile radius. The requirement to float applies regardless of housing location. Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation even if modules are completed remotely. Travelers are responsible for obtaining housing that allows them to float within the full zone. Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance. Shifts follow two formats: Schedule at a single facility or Just-In-Time assignment. Nurse to patient ratios are based on acuity. Common patient populations include adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses. Experience with titratable drips is necessary. Designated charge nurses do not take patient assignments unless necessary. Registered Nurses are expected to support efficient care delivery across multiple units. The schedule includes 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week period. May need to participate in holiday rotation. Nurses may be asked to float into varied acuity levels. Shifts are typically from 7 PM to 7 AM. All time-off requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment. The dress code allows for any color scrub. Orientation lasts 1-2 days with a preceptor. Expectations for flexibility and assistance in filling gaps in permanent staffing are important.
