Role: Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Reston, VA - hybrid (onsite - monthly or quarterly basis- mostly will remain remote)

Duration: Contract

Interview: 2 rounds (1st virtual and 2nd In-person)

Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer with a strong background in Application Security to drive secure software development practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in integrating security into the SDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines, securing AWS cloud environments, and implementing DevSecOps best practices. This role requires hands-on experience with application security testing, vulnerability management, cloud security, and container security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support enterprise Application Security initiatives.
• Integrate security into SDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform application security assessments, vulnerability management, and security testing.
• Secure AWS cloud environments and cloud-native applications.
• Implement DevSecOps best practices and automate security controls.
• Secure Kubernetes/EKS container environments.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Promote secure coding practices and ensure compliance with OWASP Top 10 and application security standards.

Required Skills:

• Strong Application Security experience.
• Experience with DevSecOps, Jenkins, and CI/CD security.
• Hands-on AWS Security experience (IAM, S3, Lambda).
• Experience securing Kubernetes/EKS environments.
• Knowledge of Cloud Security, Container Security, and Vulnerability Management.
• Experience with SAST/DAST and application security tools such as Checkmarx, Contrast Security, Tidelift, Veracode, Fortify, Snyk, or similar.
• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, Secure SDLC, and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM).

Preferred Qualifications:

• CISSP or other Cybersecurity certifications.
• AWS Security or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience in cloud-native application security and modern DevSecOps environments.
