Our client is a real estate firm. They seek a VP, Accounting to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible for accurate accounting of property operations and transactions
- Review general ledger activity and ensure timely accrual, cash, and adjusting entries
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end workpaper packages
- Prepare GAAP and cash-basis financial statements and management reporting
- Partner with executives on cash flow forecasting and liquidity analysis
- Coordinate annual audited property financial statements and supporting schedules
- Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
- Develop reporting templates, improve processes, and support technology initiatives
- Contribute to special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 15+ years of real estate accounting experience
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/accounting theory
- Working knowledge of cash basis accounting principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus
- CPA preferred
