Shift: MondayThursday, 12:45 PM8:45 PM; Friday, 9:00 AM5:00 PM

Hourly Pay Range: $32-$40

About the Role

An established manufacturing organization in New Berlin, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support production and facility equipment. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving mechanical and electrical systems to help keep manufacturing operations operating safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on maintenance position for someone comfortable diagnosing equipment problems, completing preventive maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and working both independently and alongside production and maintenance personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical production equipment and related systems
• Troubleshoot equipment failures using technical drawings, schematics, testing equipment, and established diagnostic methods
• Repair mechanical and electrical components and systems to restore equipment to safe and reliable operating condition
• Install and assist with modifications or upgrades to production and facility equipment
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities designed to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
• Document inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and other maintenance activity within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and other urgent maintenance needs while working with production personnel to minimize operational interruptions
• Follow established workplace safety, manufacturing, and food-safety requirements while maintaining an organized work area

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 35 years of previous industrial maintenance technician experience
• Strong mechanical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical production equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical schematics, equipment documentation, operating instructions, and maintenance procedures
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and other tools commonly required for industrial maintenance
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to accurately document maintenance activities and communicate effectively with production and maintenance personnel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical degree or certification in electrical technology
• Previous maintenance experience within food processing or manufacturing
• Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing and use of hands to operate tools, equipment, and controls. The employee may also be required to walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The position requires the ability to frequently push, pull, lift, and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally push, pull, lift, and/or move up to 100 pounds. The role also requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an active manufacturing environment around production machinery and equipment. The position may involve occasional exposure to moving mechanical components, airborne particles, fumes, and chemicals associated with an industrial workplace. The role requires the use of various hand and power tools as well as fabrication, welding, plumbing, and measuring equipment when appropriate to the maintenance activity. Required personal protective equipment includes steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, and safety glasses.

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $35-$40 per hour, depending on experience.
