Our golden rule is “The customer is the most important person in all our stores.” Job Title: Huck’s Market Store Manager Job Purpose Every store manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the store within company policy and local laws to ensure profitability while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Job Duties And Responsibilities Customer Service Give customers prompt and courteous service adhering to all Best In Class standards. Ensure that store appearance reflects company expectations and standards. Ensure that the store is open and ready for business during all hours. Handle all customer conflicts using our MAKE IT RIGHT method. Increase Profits Utilize all tools and departments to ensure all programs and policies are executed. Manage expenses and sales to meet or beat the budget. Conduct neighborhood marketing through community involvement. Participate in all suggestive‑selling contests by motivating Sales Associates. General Management Commit to our Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S.). Recruit talented candidates for the Company. Schedule associates to meet business demands per labor planner program. Communicate effectively with store associates, Division Manager, and corporate office. Follow all federal, state and local laws and ordinances pertaining to the operation of the store. Model conduct for other associates. Control variable expenses of the store. Ensure all associates adhere to company uniform policy and provide prompt customer service. Perform all Store Manager checklists daily. Ensure Sales Associate checklists are performed each shift. Post schedules two weeks in advance, per policy. Accounting Ensure all paperwork is accurate and timely. Maintain inventory and cash loss within company guidelines. Conduct inventories, cash audits, cigarette counts, cost and supply audits as directed. Deposit all store funds to the bank daily, including weekends. Keep sufficient change available throughout operating hours. Send required documents to store analysts. Human Resources Treat all associates with dignity and respect and use proper personnel‑management techniques. Ensure associates receive breaks. Advise division manager of any personnel or policy violations impacting store performance. Commit to all training programs by working with the Trainer to ensure associates are trained for their job duties. Ensure associates properly record hours worked following the no‑work‑off‑the‑clock policy. Provide an environment free of harassment or hostile conditions. Comply with the Company’s Responsible Retailing policy. Work with associates to ensure ongoing training and development. Record hours worked in the workstation. Security Ensure all cash‑handling procedures are followed. Maintain working order of video surveillance equipment. Ensure a safe shopping and working environment. Protect company assets, including cash and merchandise. Ensure vendor check‑in procedures are followed per company policy. Keep cash secured in one of three places: safe, register, or bank. Merchandising Post all promotional signs as scheduled. Ensure current plan‑ograms are used. Communicate with District Manager for special needs or requests. Send merchandise orders properly to prevent out‑of‑stocks and maintain inventory levels. Work with DSD vendors to ensure 100% stock of product. Monitor inventory levels and communicate with Division Manager to prevent out‑of‑stocks. Keep all food service areas clean and follow sanitation procedures. Maintenance Keep floors clean and maintained. Report maintenance problems needing assistance to the Hucks Solution Center via Intranet. Ensure equipment is working by maintaining proper operating procedures. Safety Ensure ladders are used properly. Follow lifting procedures per company policy. Use wet‑floor signs and floor dryers per company policy. Report accidents promptly to District Manager and corporate office. Report all work‑related injuries. Ensure all EPA regulations are met by complying with UST procedures. Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
