A Guest Service Captain orchestrates the service experience for hotel guests while working alongside coworkers to ensure that the site's service standards are met or exceeded. The role is not a managerial position but involves coordination, administration, troubleshooting, and guiding guests when the manager is not on site. Job Details Compensation: Hourly base pay of $14 plus $5‑$10 per hour in tips. Work Schedule: AM/PM shifts may be required. Seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible for these benefits. Essential Functions Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, client staff members and coworkers. Acknowledge and greet guests within 30 seconds of arrival to create favorable first and last impressions. Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests. Check in arriving guests and explain vehicle parking and retrieval procedures. Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Handle guest complaints and difficult situations while maintaining accuracy and composure. Use proper phone etiquette. Conduct room presentations for bell services. Assist with delivery and pick‑up of items to guest rooms. Provide directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries. Maintain detailed knowledge of the client’s facility, including outlets, meeting rooms, amenities and local attractions. Promote a teamwork philosophy through leading by example and effective communication skills. Lead the work group to deliver high levels of guest service. Assign coworkers to routine roles and, as directed, adjust staffing during shifts. Issue claim checks to guests after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks from all guests before issuing keys. Complete ticket information, key tags, guest folio and vehicle damage surveys, and secure all keys on a belt clip or in a locked key box. Ensure staff do not provide “lift” services and only offer a hand for assistance. Check wheelchairs for safe operation before each use and clean them afterward. Protect guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA and maintain the security of financial and identifying information. Assist the Account Manager as needed to build work schedules, notify associates of schedule changes, identify and collect revenue for all vehicles, complete accurate cash drop slips and envelopes, produce shift reports, and reconcile revenue and tickets at the end of every shift. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Licensure & Certification: Minimum age 18; must pass a criminal background check, MVR, and drug screen. Must complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park. Experience: Six months of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge: Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle. Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing Standard English; reading simple instructions, correspondence, and memos; writing simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations. Apply reasoning and understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions. Mathematical skills: add and subtract three‑digit numbers, multiply and divide with tens and hundreds, and perform operations using U.S. money units. Understand 24‑hour and military time systems. Understand rates applicable to time passed. Working Conditions & Physical Demands The job requires standing or sitting for extended periods, running, walking, handling objects, climbing stairs, and bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Visual requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Lifting requirements include up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds constantly.
