ETL Specialist

Must reside within the Continental United States. Candidates located in the Central U.S., Illinois, or Midwest region are preferred. Travel: Position Summary We are seeking an experienced MDM ETL Specialist / Developer to provide hands-on technical development, support, and delivery for Master Data Management (MDM) services supporting a large-scale Health and Human Services innovation initiative. This role focuses on Informatica MDM, Informatica PowerCenter, data integration, ETL development, data quality, data governance, and analytics supporting a unified cross-agency client/member view across State programs. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the MDM Technical Lead to: Develop and support MDM technical solutions Build and maintain Informatica workflows and data loads Develop and optimize SQL queries and ETL processes Leverage Python automation where appropriate Troubleshoot production issues Support QA, testing, and validation activities Ensure stable and reliable MDM operations Program Overview The MDM team supports a statewide initiative designed to: Integrate data from multiple State agencies to create a unified client/member view. Improve service delivery across State programs through consolidated and trusted data. Support advanced analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. Develop custom dashboards and reporting solutions. Leverage Informatica MDM and related integration technologies. Support enterprise-wide data quality and governance initiatives. Improve consistency, integrity, and stewardship of critical enterprise data. Enable policy development and program evaluation through trusted data assets. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and program outcomes through data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities Utilize Informatica MDM to combine and transform data from multiple source systems. Apply data transformations, corrections, and enhancement requests through established change management processes. Develop, maintain, and support MDM solutions and operational processes. Create and maintain Informatica: Mappings Mapplets Sessions Workflows Implement and support MDM jobs and data integration processes. ETL Design & Support Work with ETL transformations including: Aggregator Expression Filter Router Sequence Generator Joiner Rank Source Qualifier Lookup Schedule and monitor ETL/Informatica jobs across: Development Testing Automate data staging activities through scripting and scheduling. SQL Development Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries and scripts. Support data marts and enterprise data solutions in large-scale relational database environments. Perform data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting activities. Production Support Troubleshoot and resolve post-release production issues. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Support operational stability and performance tuning activities. Testing & Quality Assurance Collaborate with QA teams to: Test MDM processes Unit Testing Integration Testing System Testing Technical Collaboration Participate in project discussions and architecture reviews. Document technical solutions and recommend alternative approaches when appropriate. Work closely with technical leads, analysts, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders. Required Qualifications Experience 5+ years of experience in: Master Data Management (MDM) ETL/ELT Development Data Integration Development 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Informatica MDM. Strong experience with Informatica: Mappings Mapplets Sessions Workflows Scheduling Monitoring Job Troubleshooting Technical Skills Strong SQL experience in large enterprise database environments. Experience working with large MDM platforms and relational database systems. Python experience for: Automation Scripting Testing Data processing support Data Management Experience Data Quality Data Matching Data Governance Operations & Delivery Experience supporting: MDM Operations Performance Tuning Production Support SDLC Delivery Education Bachelor's Degree in: Computer Science Information Systems Data Analytics Or equivalent professional experience Preferred Qualifications MDM & Data Management Experience with additional MDM platforms and cloud-native MDM solutions. Experience supporting MDM modernization initiatives.
