A Day in the Life of a Senior Estimator

Do you thrive on developing winning strategies and leading preconstruction efforts? Are you driven by building strong relationships and shaping the future of construction in Ohio? If so, here's how you'll contribute:

• Lead Preconstruction Efforts: Oversee all aspects of preconstruction, including estimating, budgeting, logistics, scheduling, and execution.
• Own the Estimating Process:Review proposal specifications, drawings, and pre-bid meetings to determine scope and content for competitive estimates.
• Drive Strategy & Execution: Develop and communicate estimates for complex projects, ranging from conceptual budgets to detailed hard bids.
• Collaborate & Build Relationships:Partner with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to align on project goals and ensure financial success.
• Be a Trusted Advisor : Participate in project pursuit efforts, assisting with presentations, proposals, and interviews to secure new work.
• Expand Market Presence:Actively network and attend industry events to build relationships, uncover project opportunities, and strengthen Granger's reputation in Ohio.
• Mentor & Develop Talent:Provide guidance and training to junior estimators, helping them grow and positioning the department for long-term success.
• Innovate & Improve Processes: Leverage new technologies and best practices to enhance estimating accuracy, efficiency, and overall project success.

What You Bring to the Team

• Bachelor's degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in commercial construction estimating and preconstruction.
• Expertise in construction materials, systems, and best-value decision-making.
• Strong proficiency in office, estimating, scheduling, and accounting software; experience with CostX is a plus.
• Sharp analytical skills to accurately calculate, assess risk, and develop creative, resourceful solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas confidently to diverse audiences.
• A collaborative, team-first mindset with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
• An assertive, highly motivated, and self-starting approach to work.
