IT Support Technician (Entry Level)

The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex. This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up. Skills to include: panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High Power Electronic assemblies.are, or software applications.Provide technical support to end-users for PC, server, hardware, and software applications.This position supports a new factory startup and is expected to operate in a dynamic, fast-changing environment where systems, processes, and infrastructure are being established. The Support Technician will play a hands-on role in site IT bring-up, support early production ramp activities, and work closely with IT leadership, facilities, vendors, and manufacturing teams during startup and steady-state operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Other duties may be assigned.)Core Support ResponsibilitiesLoad and verify software packagesTroubleshoot and resolve end-user issuesInstall and configure PCs and peripheralsResolve site-level incident management requestsPopulate Knowledge Database and Configuration Management Database where appropriateEmphasize management of queues and adherence to SLAs and KPIsInstall and configure PCs (imaging)Troubleshoot basic issues with scanners (MES / SAP RF)Provide phone-based or remote support for offsite usersPurchase software and hardware via PO processAdminister user accounts using Active DirectorySupport mobile device enrollment, configuration, and basic troubleshooting (corporate smartphones and tablets)Provide maintenance and support of Audio/Visual equipmentPerform baseline support for standard IT applicationsMonitor Service Desk queues and resolve tickets in a timely mannerInstall, identify, and repair hardware and peripheral componentsSimulate or recreate user issues to resolve operating difficultiesMaintain inventory of computer parts and logs of repairsProvide training and technical assistance to usersStartup & Factory Ramp ResponsibilitiesSupport IT infrastructure and end-user readiness activities during factory build, commissioning, and early production rampAssist with initial deployment of IT equipment, workstations, printers, scanners, and shared devices across office and manufacturing floor environmentsOperate effectively in a startup environment with evolving processes, incomplete documentation, and shifting prioritiesWork hands-on in factory, warehouse, and construction-adjacent environments as systems and work areas are brought onlineSupport non-standard schedules, including extended hours or weekends, during critical startup and production milestonesPartner closely with IT leadership, facilities, manufacturing engineering, and external vendors to resolve issues impacting startup timelinesIdentify gaps, risks, or recurring issues during ramp and proactively escalate or propose improvementsContinuous Improvement & Professional ExpectationsParticipate in the exchange of ideas and information within the departmentAsk questions and encourage input from team membersProvide regular updates to appropriate managersIdentify creative ways to reduce cost and improve efficiencyDrive continuous improvement through trend analysis and metricsEnsure procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundantDemonstrate strong customer service and sense of urgencyMaintain discretion and confidentiality of IT systems and dataUnderstand and embrace business and IT strategic directionFollow all corporate, regional, and site security, safety, and health policiesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma and one year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceA+ certification requiredKnowledge of Microsoft applications and utilitiesPreferred for Startup EnvironmentsExperience supporting manufacturing, factory floor, or warehouse ITHands-on experience with new site deployments, refreshes, or large-scale rolloutsLANGUAGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTSStrong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)Service-oriented attitude with sense of urgencyAbility to work independently and prioritize based on business impactTime management and analytical troubleshooting skillsAbility to understand basic network and system architectureWillingness to provide on-call support and adapt to startup demandsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSProlonged use of computer equipmentAbility to sit or stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionallyFrequent walking between office and manufacturing floor areasWORK ENVIRONMENTOffice and manufacturing floor environmentExposure to moderate noise levelsStartup phase may include time spent in partially constructed or transitioning work areasThe hourly pay range for this role is $23.89 - $43.03.
