Department: MedSurg Peds RN -
*Certifications Required: BLS, PALS*

- # of Beds: 17 beds - 14 inpatient, 3 observation
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: Days: 1:4, Nights: 1:5
- Are RNs required to titrate drips? No
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes & they do take assignment.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: 2:15 - 2 nurse aids on days; 1 nurse aid on nights
- Pediatrician in house 24/7?: Not in house but on call for pediatric patients - peds are not managed by the hospitalist
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides troubleshoot?: We do not have vents on MSP; occasional bipap managed by RT primarily
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: ICU monitors teles, reads strips, etc. MSP nurses apply the tele to pt.
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 7-7 // self-scheduling
- Weekend Requirement: As needed
- Holiday Requirement: No requirement
- Floating Requirements: ED/ICU for 1:1s as needed
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Navy blue
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1- 12 hour shift - or if needed one night and one day orientation
