Counselor Coordinator

Richard Milburn Academy (RMA) is a public charter school dedicated to helping students overcome barriers, achieve academic success, and prepare for meaningful futures. We are seeking a District Counseling Coordinator to provide leadership, support, and strategic direction for our district counseling program while partnering with campus leaders to promote student achievement, college and career readiness, and student well-being. Position Summary The District Counseling Coordinator serves as the district leader for counseling services, providing guidance, training, and support to campus counseling staff and administrators. This role is responsible for developing and monitoring counseling programs, supporting college, career, and military readiness (CCMR) initiatives, coordinating student support systems, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state requirements. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with a strong background in secondary school counseling, student support services, and educational leadership. Lead and support district-wide counseling initiatives and programs. Develop, implement, coordinate, and monitor counseling curriculum and services. Establish and monitor benchmarks to support student success and CCMR outcomes. Coordinate scholarship opportunities and college and career readiness activities. Support development of the high school course catalog and campus master schedules. Provide training, coaching, and professional development for counselors and campus staff. Serve as a district liaison with community organizations and social service agencies. Support student support teams and Section 504 processes. Assist campuses with identifying and supporting at-risk students. Collaborate with principals, counselors, teachers, students, families, and community partners. Coordinate district College and Career Day activities and related programs. Assist with the recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of counseling personnel. Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local requirements related to counseling services. Manage assigned budgets and maintain records for accountability and audit purposes. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Valid TEA School Counselor Certification or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential. Minimum of five (5) years of successful counseling experience serving grades 9–12. Strong knowledge of college, career, and military readiness requirements. Experience working with at-risk student populations. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and use information to drive decision-making and student outcomes. Preferred Master's Degree from an accredited college or university. Experience in educational leadership or counseling program administration. Familiarity with state accountability systems and performance measures.
