Systems Administrator | Windows Infrastructure & Microsoft 365 Location: Dayton, OH | Fully Onsite Job Type: Full-Time Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join a collaborative IT team supporting a modern Microsoft infrastructure across corporate offices and active job sites. This role offers the opportunity to work across Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, VMware, Cisco Meraki, enterprise security, disaster recovery, and automation initiatives while helping maintain and enhance a reliable, secure, and scalable technology environment. What You'll Do: Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments across physical, virtual, and hybrid cloud infrastructures. Install, configure, and support server hardware, storage, peripherals, and related infrastructure. Administer Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including user provisioning, Group Policy, MFA, Conditional Access, identity governance, and least privilege access controls. Support Microsoft 365 technologies, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure hybrid cloud environments. Manage and optimize VMware virtual infrastructure. Configure and maintain Cisco Meraki firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VPN connectivity, and network security policies. Monitor infrastructure, network, and security performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations. Implement patch management, system upgrades, capacity planning, and infrastructure modernization initiatives. Manage enterprise backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and recovery validation, including testing against established RTO and RPO objectives. Create and deploy enterprise software packages using Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM). Provide Tier II and Tier III support for infrastructure, networking, Microsoft 365, and enterprise application issues. Support technology deployments for both corporate offices and remote jobsite locations. Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational standards, system configurations, and change management procedures. Participate in infrastructure upgrades, technology implementations, after-hours maintenance, and on-call support rotations. Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency through PowerShell scripting and modern administration tools. Support infrastructure in accordance with NIST security standards and industry best practices. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of systems administration or infrastructure support experience. Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file and print services, and identity management. Hands-on VMware administration experience. Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure hybrid environments. Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, including MFA, Conditional Access, and identity governance. Experience configuring and supporting Cisco Meraki firewalls, switches, wireless networking, VPNs, and network security. Knowledge of network security best practices, endpoint management, access controls, and NIST security frameworks. Experience with enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. PowerShell scripting and automation experience. Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, and end-user technologies. Experience with monitoring and alerting platforms such as PRTG, Veeam ONE, or similar enterprise monitoring tools. Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field. Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification. Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate certification. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification. Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist certification. Experience supporting construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other distributed field-service environments.
