Qualifications

Graduate of an Accredited Occupational Therapy program with a bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree. Valid Occupational therapy license in the state of Connecticut. Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association, American Red Cross.

Full Job Description

Full-time Occupational Therapist position available in our growing practice. This is a unique opportunity to become a key member of a team of orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, physical therapists, and occupational therapists providing comprehensive care. Our Occupational therapists provide strong manual therapy skills including instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping and functional exercises to optimize patient outcomes. Patient population is consistent across the lifespan and consists of simple-to-complex operative and non-operative upper extremity conditions. Additionally, our OT’s manufacture both simple and complex custom orthoses for patients. Splinting experience is preferred. Something that sets our practice apart from others is that you will have the opportunity to work closely with the physician by observing surgeries and attending patient appointments, this creates a “team dynamic” to treatment where the OT, patient, and doctor all communicate and come up with a treatment plan to provide excellent quality of care for the patient.

The position will be in the Torrington office. Hours would include some evenings. Preferred candidates are already Certified Hand Therapists, or that have experience in hand therapy who are working towards achieving their CHT. Benefits will be included for Full-time position.
