Production ManagerLocation: Jamestown, NY | 1st Shift | $55,000 - $65,000About the Opportunity:Our client, a well-established custom metal fabrication manufacturer, is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager / Production Manager to lead daily operations at one of its manufacturing facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven manufacturing leader who enjoys working closely with production teams, driving operational excellence, and fostering a safe, productive workplace.This position oversees a single manufacturing facility operating on first shift and is responsible for leading production, safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Manager will directly supervise one Production Supervisor while providing overall leadership for a team of approximately 20 production employees.Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 annually (commensurate with experience)Schedule:Monday-Friday6:00 AM - 2:30 PMFirst ShiftKey Responsibilities:Lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the Production Supervisor and manufacturing team.Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment.Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency.Monitor manufacturing performance and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.Promote and enforce all safety policies and regulatory compliance.Partner with maintenance, engineering, purchasing, and leadership teams to resolve production challenges.Manage staffing, scheduling, employee performance, and workforce development.Support labor relations and maintain a positive working relationship within a union manufacturing environment.Track and report key production metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Ensure equipment and manufacturing processes are operating efficiently and effectively.Qualifications:5+ years of experience in manufacturing supervision, production management, or plant management.Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production processes, and industrial equipment.Proven ability to lead teams, develop employees, and drive operational performance.Experience managing production schedules, quality standards, and workplace safety.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in custom metal fabrication or metal manufacturing.Previous experience supervising employees in a union manufacturing environment.Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives.What We're Looking For:We're seeking a leader who enjoys being on the production floor, building strong relationships with employees, and creating an environment where safety, quality, and productivity thrive.
