Plant Care Specialist And TechnicianEmerald Tree & Shrub Care is hiring Plant Care Specialists and Technicians to support our board-certified Master Arborists. We currently cover the greater New York City, Westchester and Fairfield County areas. Our clientele includes the New York Botanical Gardens, The Bronx Zoo and Fordham University.Our ideal candidate is driven, self-directed, has a passion for plant health care, expertise in tree and plant identification, and has an innate drive to provide top-of-the-line service to every customer.Qualifications:Hands-on knowledge of trees and ornamentalsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of diseases and pests that are harmful to shrubs and plantsA desire to learn and grow within the business and the horticultural industryValid driver's license is requiredGED or high school diploma requiredCollege Degree in Horticulture or related field is preferredIndustry certificates – a plus but not requiredResponsibilities:Detect, identify, and map existing plants on client recordsDiagnose plant and shrub issuesCreate client proposals for plant and shrub carePropose landscaping improvements in terms of the health of the plantsDocument plant health into company databaseDelegate daily tasks to crewsDeliver and communicate plans to client over the phone and onsiteWork alongside crew dailyBenefits:Competitive salary range of $25-$45 per hour based on experiencePaid time off, sick days and holidaysFull-time, Year-roundGroup Health Plan401(k) retirement savings planOpportunities for promotion and advancementEmerald Tree & Shrub Care's mission is to promote sustainable, harmonious relationships with nature, our clients, and employees.
