Clear Lake - AMG Specialty Hospital is hiringa full-time TELEMETRY MONITOR TECH UNIT SECRETARY for all shifts responsiblefor accurately interpreting cardiac rhythm strips every 4 hours including rate,rhythm, PR interval, QRS, QT, signature and title. Immediately reportschanges in patient’s rhythm to Primary Care Nurse. Posts copy of rhythmchange in patients record. Documents arrhythmias and/or change in cardiacrhythm on report sheet and gives complete/accurate report to oncomingtechnician. Properly operates monitor system. Properly operatesspeaker system and phone system. Continuously runs a strip during a codeblue. Properly completes emergency calls for staff. Tracksmonitored patients at all times. Keeps charts prepped with labeled rhythmstrips. Maintains nutritional supplies. Counts prior to orderingand maintains pre-set par limits. Keep patient label book uptodate. Places completed rhythm sheets in patient charts. Provides indirectpatient care in the medical surgical setting. Meets the communicationneeds of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff.Prepares and compiles records in the Medical Surgical Unit. Initiatesdirections from physician and nursing staff. Participates in performanceimprovement activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursingand hospital policies and procedures and standards. Job Requirements Highschool graduate or equivalent (GED) preferred. CurrentBLS certification. Successfulcompletion of Basic EKG Monitoring Course preferred. Previousexperience in rhythm interpretation, previous experience as a TelemetryTechnician preferred. Knowledgeof monitoring equipment preferred.
