Job Schedule: 5PM - 5AM, 12 hours shifts; rotates between Week 1 and Week 2Week 1: works Mon & Tues, Fri, & Sat = 48 hoursWeek 2: works Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday = 36 hoursAbout us: MNP is an award-winning fastener manufacturer specializing in diameters from M3 to M24. About the role of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator: The Heat Treat Furnace Operator is responsible for operation and maintenance of the heat treat furnace, which is used to harden and temper the steel fasteners manufactured by MNP. This key role must ensure safe operation of the equipment and temperature instruments to ensure the steel stabilizes as required for the strength and utility needed for the specific fastener application. The Operator works with a small team and must be self-motivated and dependable. Responsibilities of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator: Maintain furnace controls to meet specified requirements of the processInspect parts before and after the heat-treating operation for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and visual acuityRead and record computer controls such as the carbon controller to ensure required temperatures, soak time, and cooling times are maintainedDocument parts not meeting specifications and issue rejection notices or rework orders as neededMaintain required documentation of inspections and follow lot tracing protocolsParticipate in 5S housekeepingOther duties and responsibilities as assigned Additional skills and/or experience required for success in the role of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator:Previous heat treat experienceSelf-motivated; able to work without constant supervisionExcellent work ethics: dependable, reliable, follows established proceduresPossesses basic computer skillsAble to work in a team environment; gets along with othersAble to read work and understand work instructions, blue prints, technical documents and customer requirementsAble to do math calculations and work with numbers, fractions, and decimalsAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in writingAble to record information and calculate data as neededAble and willing to wear the required protective clothing and PPE mandated by OSHA and MNPAble to commit to perfect attendance during the training scheduleAble to work in hot, oily, and noisy conditionsAble to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift, and sit as needed throughout the day Benefits of a Heat Treat Furnace Operator: Along with competitive pay, MNP offers employees BCBS medical, dental and vision insurance, company-paid life insurance, life insurance, flexible spending account, short-term and long-term disability, 401(k) and 401(k) match, discretionary profit-sharing.
