Expert Field Service Technician

Job Summary The Elite/Lead Field Service Technician will be responsible for initiating and executing field service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner. This role works with more advanced and multi- or complex systems, proactively troubleshoots systems, works with mechanical, electrical, diesel equipment conditions, conducts preventative maintenance and parts inventory, and anticipates and corrects safety issues (both Company and Customer owned equipment). It interfaces directly with customers and may be responsible for work in multiple systems, locations, and customers. This role is responsible for escalation and leveraging appropriate company resources to address issues with personnel and customers. Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe working environment and culture within the organization Take care of company property Demonstrate high impact culture through innovation, accountability and empowerment Function effectively in a team environment Usually work with little to no supervision Work independently and lead/coach/guide/motivate Travel Requirements Some travel required 20%-80% travel depending on division & location (overnight stays, away from home) Driving Requirements Driver Application for Employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Forms: Driver Disclosure and Release Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement FMCSA Certificate of Awareness Driver Certificate of Violations Driver Statement of On Duty Hours Road Test (Copy of Driver’s License) Copy of Medical Certificate Education & Experience Requirements HS diploma or equivalent Capable of obtaining a CDL, class A or B with applicable endorsements Preferred Qualifications Technical military background Tech Certificate, Degree or industry specific license(s) Experience Requirements Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.) Ability to obtain DOT Medical card Clean driving record Work experience preferred 5 to 7 years of technical work experience Skill Requirements Electrical, mechanical, diesel, fusion experience depending on business unit Work without direct supervision and provide coaching/training to junior-level technicians Technically sound Experience with Microsoft Office including smart devices Must have customer service experience Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability Synthesizes technical information and communicates it clearly Derives insight from customer experience to produce outcomes and solve problems often in novel and unexpected ways High Impact Behaviors Continuous Professional Development: professionals should be committed to lifelong learning, seeking out opportunities for self-improvement, and staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.
