The Role Your role As a UX Design Associate, you'll help create digital experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and meaningful for customers. You'll explore how people interact with technology, identify opportunities to improve those experiences, and contribute design solutions that make products easier to use and understand. Working alongside experienced designers, researchers, product teams, and engineers, you'll help turn customer and business needs into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and experience concepts. You'll contribute throughout the design process, from discovery and research through to testing and delivery. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience designing for enterprise-scale products while learning how emerging technologies, including AI-enabled experiences, are changing the way people interact with digital products. You'll balance creative problem solving with structured analysis, using research and feedback to inform design decisions and improve customer outcomes. Through Kyndryl's Early Career experience, you'll strengthen your skills in user research, interaction design, accessibility, facilitation, and storytelling while building a portfolio of real-world work that delivers meaningful impact. What you will do Understand customer needs Support user research activities to better understand customer goals, challenges, and opportunities Participate in interviews, workshops, usability testing, and other research activities Organize research findings and help translate insights into design opportunities Create journey maps, personas, workflows, and other experience design artefacts Design user experiences Develop wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and experience concepts for digital products Contribute to experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and easy to navigate Translate customer needs and business requirements into practical design solutions Apply human-centred design principles throughout the design process Collaborate across teams Partner with designers, researchers, engineers, and product teams to develop customer-focused solutions Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into evolving concepts Help communicate design ideas through visual storytelling, presentations, and prototypes Balance customer expectations, business goals, and technical considerations when developing solutions Explore emerging technologies Contribute to projects that incorporate AI-enabled experiences and digital innovation Explore how evolving technologies can support better user experiences and customer outcomes Use design and productivity tools to support research, ideation, and prototyping activities Help evaluate new concepts through testing, feedback, and iteration Learn and grow Build expertise in UX research, interaction design, accessibility, and digital product design Learn from experienced designers through coaching, collaboration, and hands-on project work Develop a portfolio of customer-focused design experiences Expand your ability to solve complex problems through research, creativity, and collaboration Kyndryl currently does not require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, however, if you are hired to work at a client, customer, or partner location, you may be required to show proof of vaccination to align with their respective COVID-19 vaccination policies. Required skills and experience Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or equivalent practical experience completed recently or expected before start date Academic, internship, volunteer, or project experience in UX design, human-centred design, interaction design, psychology, human-computer interaction, or a related field Understanding of user-centred design principles and design thinking methodologies Experience creating wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, user flows, or similar design deliverables Experience using Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design tools Ability to gather, organize, and interpret user feedback and research insights Experience collaborating on team-based projects with multiple stakeholders Interest in designing accessible, inclusive, and customer-focused digital experiences Preferred skills and experience Portfolio demonstrating UX, product design, service design, or innovation-focused projects Exposure to usability testing, customer research, or workshop facilitation Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices Interest in AI-enabled experiences and emerging interaction patterns Experience using AI-supported design or productivity tools such as Figma AI, Miro AI, Adobe Firefly, or similar solutions The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is : $63,360 to $114,120 based on a full-time schedule.

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement. There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations: California (San Francisco Bay Area):$76,080 to $137,040 California (All Other):$69,720 to $125,640 Colorado: $63,360 to $114,120 Massachusetts$63,360 to $125,640 New York City: $76,080 to $137,040 Washington: $69,720 to $125,640 Washington DC:$69,720 to $125,640 This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
