Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring MD or compact RN licensure and proven general OR and DaVinci robotics experience.

Details

• Level II Trauma center operating room setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with a 1:1 ratio
• General OR caseload spanning trauma, urology, podiatry, orthopedics, plastics, neuro, gyn, endoscopy, ENT, thoracic, vascular, cardiac, and bariatric surgery
• DaVinci robotics experience required
• Epic EMR required
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• Rotational weekend requirement inclusive of on-call shifts
• On-call required 5-6 times per 4-week period, including one weekend call, with a 30-minute call-back response time
• Floating required within specialty and to a sister campus as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state or Compact) required
• BLS certification required (AHA only); ACLS preferred
• CNOR and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required; 2 years considered with strong relevant experience
• Strong general OR and robotics experience required, with ability to both scrub and circulate
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, vascular, urology, ENT, bariatric, and robotic-assisted procedures
• Responsible for scrubbing and circulating duties across multiple surgical service lines
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled, inclusive of on-call shifts
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have strong general OR and robotics experience
• Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility are not accepted unless otherwise specified
• Returning former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system before returning
• Extensions generally limited to one contract plus one extension, followed by a required 6-month break before returning to the same facility or unit
