SORN/SVOR Registration Review Coordinator

We are seeking a SORN/SVOR Registration Review Coordinator to support compliance and registration operations related to sex and violent offender registration obligations. This role works independently to collect and analyze legal documentation, make registration determinations, and communicate findings to law enforcement partners across local, state, and federal jurisdictions.

Essential Functions:

• Collect court and registration documentation from local, state, and federal jurisdictions
• Review and analyze legal documents, criminal codes, court orders, and related materials
• Update state and federal tracking tools and offender registry systems
• Create and complete registration reviews to support determination outcomes
• Communicate review determinations to local law enforcement
• Collaborate with division staff and law enforcement partners to maintain accurate records

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Legal research experience — Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, INcite, Doxpop (minimum 1 year)
• Experience gathering and processing documentation (minimum 2 years)
• Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret criminal and administrative code, policies, procedures, and legal documents (minimum 2 years)
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks under time constraints
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to maintain discretion when working with confidential information
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with internal staff and external agency partners

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• Familiarity with criminal history records including Triple Is, probable cause affidavits, conviction/sentencing documents, presentence investigation reports, and court orders (1 year preferred)
• General research experience (2 years preferred)
• Legal education or background

Work Environment & Expectations:

• Works independently to make registration obligation determinations with periodic review for compliance with Indiana Code, case law, and agency policy
• Must manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and exercise sound, well-informed judgment
• High accuracy standards required — errors carry consequences for public safety, community trust, and potential liability
• Must recognize when cases require escalation, consultation, or further review
