Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Hummelstown, Pennsylvania
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,790–$1,920
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel respiratory therapy contract
• Start Date: November 3, 2026
• End Date: January 31, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., including a 30-minute unpaid break
• Expected Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• On-Call: Not required
• Healthcare Setting: On-site pediatric hospital respiratory therapy department

Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Current Pennsylvania Respiratory Therapist license
• At least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience; significant pediatric respiratory care experience is required
• Experience caring for pediatric intermediate-care and intensive-care patients
• Demonstrated mechanical ventilator management skills and comprehensive basic respiratory care experience
• Experience in a large hospital and trauma-care environment
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and in a fast-paced pediatric healthcare setting

Registered Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services to pediatric patients in intermediate-care and intensive-care settings
• Assess respiratory status and implement individualized respiratory care plans
• Manage mechanical ventilation and support patients requiring advanced respiratory interventions
• Deliver basic and advanced respiratory treatments according to clinical protocols
• Monitor patient response to therapy and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other clinicians to promote safe, effective patient care
• Document respiratory assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and promptly
• Follow pediatric hospital, trauma-care, infection-prevention, and patient-safety standards
