Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Technician supports the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with engineers and production teams to ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Essential Duties:

• Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and components used in manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in machinery, control systems, and production equipment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams
• Support engineers in designing and improving electrical systems and automation processes
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment
• Calibrate and test instruments and control systems to ensure accuracy and performance
• Assist in PLC programming, debugging, and system upgrades
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance, and system changes
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime

Requirements

• A.S. degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred)
• Knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and industrial automation
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and control systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with programmable logic controllers (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
• Knowledge of robotics and automated systems
• Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs)
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and work on the production floor for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and machinery

Work Environment

• Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical systems
• May require shift work, overtime, or on-call support depending on production needs
