Medical Assistant – Part-time; Pediatrics

(On-site, Shippensburg, PA 17257)

Job Type:   Part-Time , Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with prorated benefits; not a temporary job)

Location: Shippensburg, PA 17257

Schedule: Part-Time, Day Shift (Daylight hours; pediatric outpatient setting)

New Hire Starting Base Pay: $19.00 – $21.40 per hour (Starting placement within the range is determined by direct clinical assistant, phlebotomy, pediatric, or medical office experience.)

Future Earning Potential: Position hourly rate progresses up to $28.60 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and pediatric clinical career ladder advancement.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. 
• Successful   completion of formal Medical Assistant (MA) training with active certification 
• Experience & Specialization: Prior pediatric medical office or clinical setting experience strongly preferred.
• Systems Knowledge & Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency with working knowledge of electronic health record systems and medical office software tools.
• Clinical & Communication Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, rooming pediatric patients, taking vitals, performing screenings, phlebotomy, lab testing, and administering injections/vaccines under physician direction.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Pediatric Direct Patient Care: Assist physicians with exams and clinical procedures, perform vitals and labs, collect specimens, document patient data, administer injections/vaccines under provider supervision, and relay care instructions to families.
• Clinic Operations & Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and sanitize exam rooms between visits, maintain and disinfect equipment, manage supply inventory, and uphold strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and state Department of Health regulations.
• Administrative & Front Office Support: Answer patient phone inquiries, schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, update pediatric health records, and handle routine front-office documentation.
