Make a meaningful impact working with elementary students in a center-based program serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, some of whom utilize augmentative communication devices. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support students from kindergarten through fifth grade and collaborate as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team.
In this role, you’ll work five days per week, applying your expertise to enhance student communication skills and help them reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Valid state licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility
- Prior experience working in school settings, especially with K-5 populations
- Familiarity with intellectual disabilities and augmentative/alternative communication devices strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students in the center-based program
- Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals based on student needs
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services as outlined in each IEP
- Participate in IEP meetings and effectively communicate progress and recommendations with families and staff
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and caregivers to foster a supportive learning environment
- Maintain thorough documentation of services, progress, and compliance with state and federal requirements
- Caseload details to be determined during the interview process to ensure the best fit
