Located less than 10 miles from the US-Mexico border, the Chula Vista campus of Scripps Mercy serves the cities of Chula Vista, Otay Mesa, National City, Imperial Beach, Bonita and beyond.

Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista.

Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista provides a variety of medical and surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care. Within the hospital you’ll find our 24-hour emergency room and many other specialty services ranging from cancer care to stroke care.

This is a full time 12-hour Night shift position located at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista.

Our Stepdown Unit at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista is a 35-bed facility focused on high-acuity patients, including those recovering from strokes, cardiac issues, and patients on critical drip protocols. This unit specializes in continuous cardiac monitoring for conditions such as myocardial infarction, chest pain, unstable angina, hypertension, diabetes, and renal failure. Located in the vibrant South Bay, our team is known for its collaborative and supportive environment, where patient care and professional growth are top priorities. What you will do

v Provide comprehensive care to Step-Down, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical patients with a range of conditions, including diabetes, cardiac issues, respiratory illnesses, and post-surgical recovery.

v Provide Peritoneal dialysis treatments and administration

v Conduct thorough patient evaluations, physical exams, and recorded vital signs with timely and accurate documentation.

v Develop personalized nursing care plans and efficiently delegated patient care activities Collaborate with physicians to report patient progress and communicate critical or abnormal findings to ensure high-quality patient care.

v Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, mentoring new staff, and communicating effectively with patients and families to ensure compassionate, high-quality care.

This position is eligible for New Hire Incentives of up to $7k

• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of RN experience
• Current CA Registered Nurse License
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• At least one year of acute care RN experience in Stepdown.

Position Pay Range: $59.16-$85.68/hour
