Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities for residents in an acute care-focused skilled nursing setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing safety and efficiency
- Screen for dysphagia and coordinate swallow evaluations; refer for instrumental assessment when indicated
- Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries; maintain accurate and timely records
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, physicians, therapy colleagues, social work) for care planning and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing; provide coaching and family training as needed

Requirements
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in the United States (or eligibility for Maine licensure)
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility with acute care needs
- Willingness to undertake a 13-week travel assignment
- Availability to start on or around 07/27/2026
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills; ability to manage a caseload in a fast-paced setting
