We work along and with various individuals within and outside of the team that allows us to engage in all sorts of work that impacts current and future products. This role offers the opportunity to show your passion towards CPU, APU, and GPU technology to provide users with the best experience possible. The team is passionate about power and performance with primary responsibilities in post-silicon bring-up, feature and workload optimization and characterization, debug and product optimization. Successful candidate will assume responsibility for post-silicon activities related to power and performance characterization and optimization of AMD discrete GPU products and integrated NPU products.THE PERSON:We are seeking an engineer for development of post-silicon activities related to performance and perf/watt optimization of AMD CG products. We are looking for a passionate candidate to join our highly visible team to deliver the highest performing and most power efficient products to millions of users worldwide.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Developing and executing performance, power and perf/watt characterization and optimization test plans for different usage scenarios (3D, compute, multimedia, Static Screen, AI, etc.)Analyzing interactions between various performance and power management features and optimize their configurations for power and performanceDeveloping post-Si power/performance models for key usage scenariosSupport prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance and powerDebugging and troubleshooting system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platformsProactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activitiesParticipating in the product definition processPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Understanding of power/thermal management and PerformanceGood understanding of computer organization/architectureDeep understanding of digital electronicsExtensive laboratory experience, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detailOutstanding interpersonal and communication skillsExperience in programming: C or C++, and a scripting language (for example: Python, Perl, PHP, or shells)Experience with data analysis tools, database, machine learning is a plus (e.g. PowerBi, Excel, Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, R Programming, MySQL, Azure, Snowflake, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)Understanding of leading-edge artificial intelligence workloads an asset ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:Bachelors + 5 years or Master’s degree + 3 Years in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with emphasis on computer architecture and workload analysisLOCATION:Markham, ON, Canada (Onsite)#LI-DNIBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
