The role requires planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging and rigorous lessons that are aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and students’ needs. District Expectations Demonstrate regular and predictable attention to the work Support the district’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan Engage in civility, respect, and professionalism Maintain professional knowledge and skills necessary for the role Responsibilities Design and implement instruction for assigned content area(s)/course(s) in accordance with state standards, district curriculum, and student needs Create a positive educational climate of respect and rapport Develop and deliver relevant, rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds Observe and evaluate student performance and mastery of standards; monitor assessment data and maintain grades and attendance records Manage student behavior in the classroom with effective strategies and appropriate disciplinary procedures Communicate with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encourage parental involvement Maintain health and safety of students and protect equipment, materials, and facilities Secure confidential records, inquiries, and data appropriately Maintain required certifications and complete professional development hours Perform any other duties as assigned Other Job Knowledge and Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including monitoring, active listening, and concise writing Competence in required job skills; ability to learn and apply new skills with minimal supervision Sound judgment and sound decision-making; supports and explains reasoning Project management: develop plans, coordinate projects, communicate changes, complete projects on time and on budget Planning and organizing: prioritize work, use time efficiently, integrate changes smoothly, set goals and objectives Mathematical proficiency in probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions Reasoning ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization Computer skills in relevant and current software programs Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, hearing Lifting up to 10 pounds Reaching with both hands, including overhead Environmental noise intensity: moderate Certifications and Licenses Florida Professional Educator Certificate preferred.
