Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Floor Nurse (RN) is needed in HILO, Hawaii, for a night shift position at a healthcare facility. The role involves floating between various medical and surgical units, including the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and occasionally the Cardiovascular Unit. Candidates must have a Hawaii license and bring it on the first day. This position requires prior experience and specific certifications as outlined below.

Job Details:

• Location: HILO, Hawaii
• Specialty: Medical Surgical Floor (MS)
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (1845 to 0715) scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Hawaii license; 0 years minimum experience; Certifications including BLS and ACLS (preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC).
• Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before start to attend employee health appointment on Friday. Position urgency is normal.
• Equipment utilized: Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Pyxis, Wound Vac, Chest Tubes.
• Unit/Department Details:
  • Medical Unit: 77 beds
  • Laulima Unit: 18 beds
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds (on rare occasions)
• Nurse to Patient Ratios:
  • Medical: 1:6 during days and evenings, 1:8 at night
  • Laulima: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular: 1:4
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Requirements: Bring license on day one.
• Submission Notes: Candidate must be able to arrive the Thursday before the start date.
