Responsible for providing efficient, cost-effective, and consistent purchase management of pharmaceuticals and other supplies and materials. Provides inventory control while maintaining the availability of drugs needed for patient care. Responsibilities Check medication, IV fluid, and supply stock daily, and order accordingly based on buying and delivery schedules. Place orders for main pharmacy, pharmacy satellite areas and ancillary departments. Maintain and monitor wholesaler electronic ordering system to create and place orders daily. Use split billing software daily to comply with 340B program requirements and ensure medications are ordered on appropriate accounts. Actively participate in inventory management and assign par levels in collaboration with pharmacy managers. Maintain stock shelves with current identification name and order number. Ensure all new medications have been added to necessary computer systems. Manage medication backorders and recalls. Meet with managers to review on a regular basis. Process product recalls and ensure all recalled products are removed and returned in a timely manner. Work with pharmacy managers to evaluate order quantities and ordering information of all routine and special request (non-formulary) items. Review and reconcile borrow and loan transactions with outside facilities and maintain list of approved and restricted facilities. Maintain pricing tool and respond to requests for billing audit information. Perform other related duties as required and directed. Required Two years of hospital pharmacy experience. Valid state Temporary, Limited, or Full Pharmacy Technician License. If current candidate has a state Temporary Pharmacy Technician License, a valid state Full Pharmacy Technician license must be obtained within 365 days of issuance. Prepare and label chemotherapy agents. Preferred Certified Pharmacy Technician with experience and skills in all hospital technician functions. One year of experience in purchasing related activities. Prior experience with formulary price database maintenance.
