Assistant Manager

Location: Miami, Florida Join one of the largest retail operations dedicated to providing Pet Parents with the best selection of pet care items and passionate customer service. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in executing store operations, support shift managers, drive sales and customer service initiatives, and lead the store team to achieve goals and deliver world‑class service. Responsibilities Assist in driving sales, service, and customer experience initiatives to achieve sales, KPIs, and store performance goals. Monitor customer service standards and resolve complaints by directing staff as needed. Motivate, coach, develop, and performance manage teams focused on the customer experience and selling model. Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and animal care, including feeding and wellbeing of livestock. Maintain company values, brand standards, and operational excellence throughout the store. Manage inventory, ordering, and budgets for the fish system and other product lines. Support labor management and training compliance, including new hire checklists and product launches. Assist with hiring, background screening, and staffing plans. Plan and execute community events and build relationships with rescue agencies. Monitor business performance daily and react to needs. Qualifications Minimum 2 years in a retail management role. College degree an asset (requires at least a high school diploma). Enjoy working with and around animals. Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle. Ability to work flexibly: rotating schedule, 2 closing shifts per week, full weekends, and holiday coverage. Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs multiple times per shift. Physical Demands Daily duties require standing, walking or moving around the store, occasional heavy lifting up to 55 lbs, active listening, active observation, and working in a temperature‑stable environment.
