Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified professional for a Night Shift position in Medical/Surgical Telemetry. This role involves working three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM as part of an 18-week contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in a medical/surgical telemetry unit.
• Monitor vital signs and manage telemetry equipment to ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in medical/surgical telemetry.
• Current and valid Ohio nursing license or a compact state license.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Experience in charge roles is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Information

The role necessitates high adaptability and effective communication skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be prepared to undergo assessments during orientation, including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate testing.

Compliance Requirements

• All candidates must complete a thorough background check.
• Nurses and CSTs are exempt from nicotine-free facility requirements.
• Must be nicotine-free; a negative drug screen is required.

Contract and Extension

Contractual extensions up to 18 months may be available, subject to a six-month break period, unless otherwise agreed upon.

Competency and Training

Annual hands-on competency requirements may apply for nurses who maintain continuous contracts or return within a calendar year.
