Additional Information About the Role Full-Time Procedure Scheduling Coordinator – BJC HealthCare, Barnes Jewish Hospital, Nuclear Medicine & PET Radiology Department. Position Details Day shift: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm No weekends or holidays Office-based, non-remote role with hands‑on clinical support Manage Waiting Room: Check in/out patients, answer phones from patients & vendors Welcome & Assist Patients: First point of contact, provide patient assistance as needed, monitoring Scheduling Procedures & Appointments: handle faxed orders, support clinical operations with accuracy and urgency Fast‑paced environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork and patient experience Experience (Preferred) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Passion for patient advocacy and excellent customer service Experience in roles such as Patient Advocate, Patient Care Coordinator, Medical Office Assistant, Front & Clinical Assistant, Patient Service Specialist (PSR), Patient Access Rep, Medical Receptionist, Medical Office Secretary, Medical Office Front Desk, Health Care Administrative Assistant, Scheduling/scheduler, Procedure Scheduler, Surgical Coordinator, ICU Clerk, Medical Assistant (MA), Patient Care Tech (PCT), Centralized Scheduling Requirements High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education 2 or more years of experience Role Purpose Coordinates the care of patients in need of special procedures in various radiology areas. Responsibilities Obtains insurance information and pre‑certification from referring physician or insurance company. Maintains files and records on all patients, coordinates transportation for inpatients, and performs patient procedure follow‑up as instructed. Coordinates the flow of all examinations by working closely with radiologists, technical staff and referring physicians offices. Monitors patients' physiological and psychological needs and reports patient concerns to appropriate staff, physician or supervisor.
