Oyster Shucker / Barback

Part front-of-house energy. Part kitchen craft. Entirely essential.

This is a dual role that blends the precision of a kitchen position with the hospitality of the front of house. As an Oyster Shucker, you'll be the face of our raw bar - shucking oysters and clams cleanly and quickly, prepping sauces, managing inventory, and keeping the oyster board current. As a Barback, you'll be the engine that keeps our bar and server stations running smoothly throughout every shift.

You'll work closely alongside servers, bartenders, and runners, and you must be comfortable engaging with guests regularly. This role requires energy, hustle, and a genuine team-first attitude.

Barback Role and Responsibilities

• Table Maintenance: Efficiently clear and reset tables to maintain a steady flow of service.
• Inventory & Stocking: Restock glassware, beer, wine, and liquor for bar and service stations to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Menu Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of daily specials and menu items to support guest inquiries.
• Sanitation & Closing: Perform end-of-shift cleaning, including sweeping and mopping, to ensure a spotless environment.
• Operational Support: Execute additional duties as assigned to support front-of-house efficiency.

Oyster Shucker Role and Responsibilities

• Station Management: Set up and maintain a fully stocked, immaculate raw bar station, ensuring all sauces, tools, and inventory are prepared for service.
• Culinary Production: Expertly shuck oysters and clams with speed and precision, prioritizing product quality, safety, and consistent presentation.
• Inventory & Menu Management: Perform daily inventory checks and update the oyster board to reflect current offerings.
• Service Excellence: Deliver raw bar items directly to guest tables to maintain strict ticket time standards and ensure high-quality service.
• Compliance & Teamwork: Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations while maintaining a professional, collaborative attitude with kitchen and service staff.

Requirements:

• Some shucking experience is preferred, but not required
• Must have weekend availability
• Teamwork mentality
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Ability to multitask, quickly yet thoroughly
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Have reliable means of transportation
• Have the ability to lift and carry 10-55 lbs.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with guests
• Pay Rate of $6-$8 per hour plus tips (tip pooling with the support team)
