SEC Reporting Senior Analyst

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA). 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance. Experience with US GAAP and the SEC filing process in a public accounting or multinational company setting. Preferred qualifications MBA or Master's degree. Experience managing project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and project documentation. Ability to propose next steps and roadblock solutions and anticipate questions and challenges early, manage time, and follow work plans. Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross‑functional and international teams. Ability to have strong attention to detail, organizational skills and focus on continuous improvement. Excellent problem solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive management. About The Job Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You’ll lead an accounting process from end to end, including reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports. As Google drives toward audacious goals, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Reporting team will rely on you to know exactly what that growth looks like. Through relationships with various internal sources, you efficiently gather financial information, execute the preparation, review, submission and distribution of financial reports. This role calls for more than knowing the books: you also provide analysis and review of various internal and external reports, offer expert advice to senior management on U.S. GAAP and SEC filings, understand a broad range of technical accounting matters and associated disclosure requirements, and work closely with Alphabet and Beta Accounting teams on the preparation of the statement of cash flows. You are part of a team that prepares reports that reach securities analysts, investors, industry groups and users globally. The finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business, providing forward‑thinking analysis, generating management reports and scaling automated financial processes. Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $128,000 – $188,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits. Responsibilities Learn more about benefits at Google. Play a key role in the overall SEC filings process which includes quarterly 10‑Q, annual 10‑K, and press releases. Prepare cash flow statement, various footnotes and MD&A (Management Discussion and Analysis) disclosures, and maintain XBRL compliance. Collaborate with business partners throughout the SEC filing process, including but not limited to corporate accounting, legal, investor relations, senior management, and external auditors. Navigate complex technical accounting matters to understand the transaction, accounting treatment, related policy, and the appropriate disclosure presentation in both the financial statements and footnotes.
