The nurse will be responsible for circulating and assisting in the operating room as needed. The average daily census is 5 deliveries. The staff-to-patient ratio is 1:2. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. No on-call shifts are required. The nurse may float to other areas, such as Mother and Baby Unit or NICU, based on facility needs. First-time travelers are accepted. The facility will provide access to necessary training and monitoring equipment prior to start. Required skills include recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. The unit provides care for a variety of patient diagnoses related to obstetric concerns. This is a short-term acute care facility with a total of 431 staffed beds. All certifications must be obtained prior to starting the assignment.
