Spirit Stakes is a growing American-made licensed products company specializing in decorative products that allow customers to show their school, team, and community spirit in new and creative ways.

Our product lines include indoor and outdoor decorative plant stakes, garden and patio stakes, cake and food toppers, floral accessories, and other licensed products. Spirit Stakes works with retailers ranging from independent garden centers and florists to regional and national retail organizations.

We are expanding our sales organization and are looking for an energetic, motivated Sales Associate who enjoys building relationships and helping grow customer accounts.

Position Overview

The Sales Associate will be responsible for developing new business, supporting existing accounts, following up with prospective customers, and helping expand Spirit Stakes’ retail presence.

This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable speaking with business owners, buyers, store managers, and purchasing teams and who enjoys working in a fast-growing entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and contact prospective retail customers through phone, email, LinkedIn, trade shows, referrals, and other sales channels.
• Develop relationships with independent and multi-location retailers.
• Present Spirit Stakes products, displays, pricing, and merchandising programs to prospective customers.
• Follow up with leads generated from trade shows, conventions, website inquiries, and marketing campaigns.
• Assist customers in selecting appropriate schools, teams, designs, products, and quantities for their markets.
• Prepare quotes, sales orders, and customer proposals.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, customer contacts, opportunities, and follow-up activities.
• Follow up with existing customers to generate reorders and identify opportunities to expand product assortments.
• Introduce customers to new products and licensed properties as they become available.
• Work with management, production, and fulfillment teams to ensure customer expectations are communicated accurately.
• Help develop relationships with garden centers, hardware stores, florists, bakeries, college retailers, sporting-goods retailers, gift stores, school organizations, and other potential sales channels.
• Participate in trade shows and industry events when needed.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales and ordering process.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

• Previous sales, retail, customer-service, or business-development experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence making outbound calls and contacting prospective customers.
• Ability to build professional relationships with business owners and retail buyers.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Basic computer skills and comfort working with email, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and e-commerce platforms.
• Ability to learn product specifications, pricing, licensing requirements, and merchandising programs.
• A self-motivated attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Experience in hardware, lawn and garden, collegiate merchandise, sporting goods, floral, gift, wholesale, or consumer products is helpful but not required.

Compensation

Competitive compensation based on experience, with the opportunity for performance-based sales incentives and commissions.
