Electrical Drafter

Seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Design Drafter with experience in computer-aided drafting to support electrical engineering projects. This role is responsible for creating and updating technical drawings for power and industrial systems, while collaborating closely with engineers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and revise electrical drawings including single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
• Support electrical design efforts for power generation or industrial projects (equipment, cable routing, raceways, etc.)
• Interpret and translate engineering sketches and specifications into accurate drawings
• Maintain and manage drawing records in compliance with company standards
• Prepare and update project documentation such as cable schedules and vendor cut sheets
• Coordinate with internal teams and perform occasional site visits for field verification
• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental compliance practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of computer-aided drafting principles
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
• Experience creating electrical drawings (schematics, single-line, wiring diagrams)
• Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., ProjectWise, Documentum) preferred
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet project deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate degree in Drafting or related field preferred

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based with occasional field/site visits
• May involve exposure to industrial environments (heat, noise, dust, etc.)
• Travel up to 25%
