Position Overview

Fusion Innovation is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Administrator to support critical web infrastructure and production systems. The selected candidate will administer Linux servers, maintain secure and reliable AWS environments, support web applications, and contribute to infrastructure and application-level troubleshooting. This position blends traditional systems administration with cloud engineering and web application support. The ideal candidate has strong Linux and AWS experience, understands secure production operations, and can work with object-oriented application code, databases, and front-end web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, monitor, and maintain Linux-based servers and systems.
• Perform operating system patching, upgrades, configuration management, and system hardening.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure, production-grade AWS environments.
• Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, and security.
• Troubleshoot server, application, database, network, and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Implement and maintain system security controls and configuration standards.
• Support deployment and operation of web applications and related infrastructure.
• Develop, review, or modify application code using object-oriented programming languages.
• Support PHP-based applications and services.
• Develop or maintain web application components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Administer and troubleshoot relational databases and SQL-based applications.
• Support MySQL database environments.
• Automate recurring administrative, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
• Maintain backups, recovery procedures, system documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Identify system risks and recommend improvements to security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with developers and other technical personnel to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot integrated solutions.
• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action activities.

Required Skills

• Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
• Five or more years of experience in systems administration.
• Experience performing Linux server maintenance, patching, configuration management, and system hardening.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining production-grade AWS environments.
• Five or more years of experience with an object-oriented programming language.
• Experience developing or supporting web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with SQL and experience working with a relational database management system.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Ability to independently manage technical assignments while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Five or more years of relevant systems administration experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Desired Skills

• Experience with PHP.
• Experience administering or developing solutions using MySQL.
• Experience developing or supporting websites using the Joomla content management system.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, scripting, and configuration management tools.
• Knowledge of cloud security, monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster-recovery practices.
• Experience supporting highly available web infrastructure in a secure production environment.

Additional Details

• Fusion Innovation anticipates the annual base salary for this position will generally range from $100,000 to $215,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to:
  
  
  • Years of direct applicable experience with this work and the Customer
  • Relevant education, certifications, and training
  • Contract labor category requirements, skill level, contract bill rate, and hours allocation
  • Alignment with the position's responsibilities
  • Additional specialized skills
