They will work on a single, large construction project and will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc. Who are we? ResponsibilitiesManages all stages of commissioning process, from initial planning and design reviews to final testing and handoverCreates commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures (like IET and IPVT/IST), and verification checklistsEnsures the facility and its systems comply with design specifications, health and safety standards, and performance requirementsActs as the main point of contact and manages communication between various teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractorsPrepares and manages all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and final certification documentsPerforms and oversees various tests, such as functional testing and site acceptance testing, to verify system performanceTrains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasksManages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standardsFosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team membersAids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reportsQualificationsKEY COMPETENCIESLeverage Business Insights – Understand and act on industry trends, local market and economic conditions and our business model to make decisions and create competitive advantage.Deploy a Strategic Mindset - Take a broad, global perspective when considering proactive solutions to long-term opportunities and risks that might develop in the future.Display Emotional Intelligence - Demonstrate the capacity to recognize feelings and patterns of behavior and those of others. Plan for and support development of individual skills and abilities.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field10-12 years of data center commissioning experiencePrevious hyperscale field construction on data centers is requiredOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESIn-depth knowledge of data center systems, including power distribution, cooling, HVAC, and IT equipmentAbility to manage schedules, budgets, change orders, and multidisciplinary teamsExcellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levelsAbility to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectivelySalary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.The pay ranges from $130,000-$205,000 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
