Staff Nurse - UI Health Care Tiffin Family Medicine

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 100% Staff Nurse to work at our Tiffin Clinic. This position will mainly support our Tiffin Family Medicine Clinic but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations based on clinical needs/hours. This position will support the clinic in providing phone triage support, laboratory support, helping with prior authorizations, as well as assist with nurse visits. Duties to include: Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness. Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations. Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings. Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes. Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response. Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan. Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care. Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions. Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week) Schedule: Monday - Friday with variable hours ranging between 7:30 AM 6:00 PM. No weekends required. No holidays or on-call shifts required. Location: Tiffin, IA (and surround clinics/locations based on clinic needs) Pay Grade: 52 - Salary (based on years of experience)

Qualifications

Education An Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required Required Qualifications Current license to practice in the state of Iowa by the time of hire Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions. General computer skills are required. Current course completion card in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication. Highly Desirable Qualifications Demonstrated experience fostering a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment. Previous experience successfully working autonomously. The ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient populations is crucial; Float nurses must be comfortable working in various departments and clinics such as primary care and specialty services. Avalibility to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours Desirable Qualifications If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable. Familiarity with UI Health Care and ambulatory clinic workflows Previous experince with family medicine Previous experience with triage phone calls in outlook Previous experience with Epic messages/phone calls/results/fax inbox Previous experience with prior authorizations Previous experience with OB Assist with nurse visits during downtime Previous phlebotomy experience
