Diesel Mechanic/Technician

Tractor Diesel Mechanic/Technician Starting Pay: $38.44 per hour (Union Shop Local 701). Union health benefits (BCBS free for employee and family). Responsibilities Maintain proficiency in diagnosis and repair of all assigned equipment (Volvo D13, Tractor EV & Reefer experience a plus). Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests. Perform system repairs including engines, transmission, air and hydraulic systems, tires, drive‑train, steering, suspension, electrical, and AC. Perform preventive maintenance inspections, state and federal mandated safety inspections, and complete repairs in accordance with DOT requirements. Perform routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, and refrigeration systems. Use PTT and TMT software. Requirements Certification from a diesel mechanic trade school or at least 3 years of related experience as a power mechanic. Volvo D13, Tractor EV & Reefer experience preferred. TMT software experience preferred. CDL license preferred. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Basic math skills. Strong diagnostic skills. Knowledge of hydraulics. Own set of tools. Ability to lift/move items up to 75 pounds frequently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficiency with MS Office and TMT. Able to pass pre‑employment drug screen.
