Clinical Care Assistant Opportunity

Responsibilities of the Clinical Care Assistant include greeting patients, taking vitals as needed, rooming the patient, completing chart documentation, cleaning exam rooms, cleaning instruments/scopes, answering phones and returning calls in a timely manner.

Essential functions include appropriately documenting patient's chief complaint in medical record, verifying all test results are ready for the physician, cleaning instruments per protocol and maintaining a clean work area, assisting in tracking medical and office supplies, distributing/routing faxes, test results, referral letters, etc. as necessary, answering incoming phone calls and returning patient calls in a timely manner, managing EMR desktop and alerts/flags, assisting physicians during procedures, preparing and dating sterile kits per protocol, and providing discharge instruction/education to patients. Reviews handouts with patients.

Work environment is a medical office environment. Mondays-Fridays | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime may be required.

Skills/experience include a minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office environment desired, excellent oral and written communication skills required, knowledge of practice management software, timekeeping software and EHR packages, knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, adheres to all HIPAA privacy and security regulations and guidelines, and must be aware of and comply with all OSHA standards and guidelines.
