Bus MonitorEmployment: Student contact days + in-service(s) Salary: Classified Salary Schedule, Grade 5 Reports to: Maintenance and Transportation Supervisor Supervises: Students Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. First aid certificate/ CPR certified. Experience with bus safety and procedures. Essential Functions: Ensures safety of children including securing safety belts, car seats, and wheelchairs on buses; restraining violent children, attending to minor medical and personal hygiene needs; and helping students to and from buses and vehicles. Communicates clearly and professionally with students, parents, and other district personnel. Monitors student behavior and ensures safety measures are followed. Participates in bus evacuation drills and training. Assists driver in cleaning and making sure buses are equipped and stocked with supplies. Possesses knowledge of emergency procedures to handle various special education students. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority and fills out required forms. Performs other duties as assigned.
