Qualifications: Active and in good standing GA Board of Pharmacy License is a must. Relevant experience involving LTC operations is preferred. Required skills: maturity, attentiveness, responsibility, excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, verbal communication skills, confidence, commercial awareness Overview: This position focuses on reviewing and managing the medication regimens of pharmacy patients, particularly those in institutional settings such as nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, etc. Pharmacists ensure their patients' medications are appropriate, effective, as safe as possible and used correctly; identify, resolve, and prevent medication-related problems that may interfere with the goals of therapy. Responsibilities: Verify transcribed orders Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose, patient demographics Monitor insurance adjudication and cost of medications Verify final product prior to delivery Suggest appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic medication alternatives lo medical staff Maintain appropriate controlled substance records Comply with all regulatory standards Act as supervisor in charge when assigned. Effectively supervise pharmacy activities and provide support to all staff members Maintain professional competency Prioritize work and lead others to comply with policies and procedures. Identify areas for improved efficiency Effectively and proactively intervene in conflicts between pharmacy and medical staff regarding drug therapy issue and resolutions Participate in the continuous quality improvement of pharmacy operations Supervise and assist pharmacy technicians and other support-staff effectively Physical Demands: Sit, reach, stand, use hands/fingers, see, speak, hear, and sit for periods of time.
