RN Registered Nurse NICU Charge

Role Overview HCA Healthcare is seeking an experienced RN Registered Nurse NICU Charge to provide clinical and operational leadership in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In this pivotal role, you will combine advanced neonatal nursing expertise with strong leadership skills to support critically ill and high‑risk newborns, their families, and the NICU care team. As the charge nurse, you will oversee the flow of the unit during your shift, coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers, and ensuring that staffing and patient assignments reflect acuity, safety, and staff competency. You will serve as a clinical resource to bedside nurses and support staff, providing guidance on complex neonatal conditions, ventilator management, medication titration, and specialized procedures. Working closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, you will help develop and implement individualized care plans that reflect evidence‑based practice and HCA Healthcare’s commitment to patient‑centered care. In addition to direct patient care, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous learning. You will mentor and support NICU nurses, participate in orientation and precepting of new staff, and promote adherence to unit policies, regulatory standards, and infection prevention practices. You will respond to and lead neonatal resuscitations and other clinical emergencies, ensuring timely escalation and clear communication across the care team. The NICU Charge RN will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and process enhancements to optimize patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
