This is more than a typical Direct Support Professional (DSP) role. It's an opportunity to build relationships, teach life-changing skills, and walk alongside people as they learn to live well with a serious mental illness. Why First Resources?At First Resources, we invest in our employees because we know meaningful relationships change lives.Support just two individuals at a timeFull-time schedule with three 12.67-hour shifts each weekCompetitive pay starting at $18+/hour, based on experiencePaid training and ongoing professional developmentOpportunities for career growth in behavioral healthComprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid time off, life insurance, and a 403(b) retirement planA purpose-driven team committed to person-centered, recovery-oriented careThe opportunity to make a meaningful difference every single dayWhat You'll DoAs an Intensive Support Professional (ISP), you'll provide direct support to adults experiencing serious mental illness in a short-term residential rehabilitation program.No two days are exactly alike, but every day brings opportunities to build relationships, encourage growth, celebrate progress, and help someone move one step closer to greater independence.You'll help individuals:• Build independent living and daily living skills• Develop healthy coping strategies and emotional regulation skills• Support medication and appointment adherence• Encourage community involvement and healthy routines• Work toward goals identified in their Person-Centered Service Plans (PCSPs)• Prepare for a successful transition back into the communityYou'll celebrate successes, help individuals navigate setbacks, teach skills that promote independence, document progress, and provide steady, compassionate support during both everyday moments and behavioral health crises using a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach. What Makes IRSH Different?Recovery takes time, trust, and consistency.IRSH isn't designed to simply maintain the status quo. It's designed to help people grow.Supporting just two individuals at a time allows you to build meaningful relationships, provide individualized support, teach practical life skills, and celebrate progress that might otherwise go unnoticed.You'll meet people exactly where they are, recognize their strengths, and help them build the confidence and skills needed to navigate life with a serious mental illness.Recovery isn't always linear, but every day offers another opportunity to encourage hope, celebrate resilience, and remind someone they're capable of more than they may believe today. What We're Looking ForWe're looking for compassionate professionals who remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, enjoy problem-solving, and believe every person deserves the opportunity to build a meaningful life. Required Qualifications• High school diploma or equivalent• At least one year of experience working in mental health, behavioral health, human services, or a related field• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance• Basic computer skills• Ability to complete all required training and maintain certifications Preferred Qualifications• Previous Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience• Experience supporting individuals with serious mental illness or co-occurring disorders• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days) More Than a Job.
